Design Services

Every great energy system begins with great design. We analyze your load, site and budget to engineer efficient, safe and scalable power generation and storage systems.

Our designs balance performance, safety, cost and future expansion. You receive clear documentation and a realistic budget before any equipment is ordered, so you can decide with confidence.

What you get

  • Site survey and load analysis
  • System sizing and layout
  • Technical drawings and specifications
  • Cost and performance estimates

Engineering design that fits your site, load and budget

Good design saves money twice: once when you buy only what you need, and again when the system performs as expected for years. Our design service converts your goals into a technical solution with clear specifications, drawings, energy yield estimates and a bill of materials. We design solar PV systems, battery storage, hybrid and off-grid power systems and generator-based backup for homes, enterprises and utility providers.

We begin with data. Electricity bills, interval meter readings, appliance lists, process schedules and site photographs reveal how and when you use energy. We then assess roof or land area, orientation, shading, structural condition, cable routes, grid connection and any local regulations that apply.

What your design package includes

  • Load analysis and system sizing for solar, storage and backup power
  • Equipment selection with datasheets, warranties and compatibility checks
  • Single-line electrical diagrams, protection and earthing schemes
  • Array layout, mounting approach and expected annual production
  • Battery autonomy, depth of discharge and generator integration strategy
  • Budget estimate, expected savings and a phased expansion plan if required

Design for safety and compliance

Protection coordination, cable sizing, voltage drop limits, isolation points and surge protection are built in from the start rather than added later. We reference applicable electrical codes and international product standards, and we flag requirements such as grid approval, permits or inspections early so timelines stay realistic.

Optimising for long-term value

The cheapest design is rarely the best. We model the lifecycle: panel degradation, battery replacement, tariff changes, maintenance and financing. This lets you compare options on lifetime cost and payback, not just purchase price. For enterprises, we can evaluate peak shaving, demand charges and operational risk. For households, we focus on bill savings, outage protection and room for future appliances such as electric vehicle chargers.

Design deliverables explained

Clients often ask what they actually receive. A complete package normally includes a design summary, load and production calculations, equipment datasheets, single-line and layout drawings, a cable schedule, protection settings, a bill of materials and an installation scope. For larger projects we add commissioning test plans, operating philosophy and maintenance recommendations. These documents allow you to obtain competing installation quotes, support permit applications and give your maintenance team a clear reference.

Design inputs we typically request

  • Twelve months of electricity bills or interval meter data
  • A list of important loads, motors and operating hours
  • Roof drawings, photographs, structural information or site plans
  • Existing electrical diagrams and equipment details
  • Budget limits, timeline and expansion plans

Typical timelines and how to speed them up

A straightforward residential design can be completed quickly once we have your bills and site photographs. Commercial and industrial designs take longer because they involve interval data, structural checks and coordination with other trades. Early availability of drawings, meter data and decision makers is the best way to shorten the schedule. We confirm the expected timeline when we scope your project, and we update you if new information changes the plan.

Designing for future expansion

We leave space, conduit routes and board capacity for additional panels, batteries or generators wherever practical, so your system can grow with your needs without major rework.

Coordination with other professionals

We coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electricians and utility representatives, so the electrical design fits the building, the grid connection and the construction programme.

Independent design reviews

Already have a proposal? We can review a competitor quotation or contractor design for oversizing, missing protection, incompatible components and unrealistic production claims. A short review can prevent an expensive mistake. Request a design quote, read about our consulting service or learn how to prepare a technical specification.
